Home track: Victorville Auto Raceway - Victorville, California

I began racing in 2006, sharing a 1988 Toyota Corolla FX-16 hatchback (pictured below) with another driver. I drove the car in the "Sport Compact Junior" class, and placed 1st for the overall season. Despite the far-from-intimidating look of this car, it ran great and was quite fun to drive. However, it was front-wheel drive, which is difficult to get used to, but has an advantage in some situations.

I got my driver's license in early 2007 and upgraded to the main "Sport Compact" class and drove a 1987 Toyota MR-2. I placed second for that season. The MR-2 was rear-wheel drive, which is more straight-forward and intuitive to drive. It was also a mid-engine car, which supposedly gave it an advantage in the handling department.

I got the opportunity to try out a car in the "Street Stock" class late in the 2007 season, and immediately fell in love with it. I went on to drive that car, a 1978 Chevrolet Camaro, for the remainder of the season (along with the MR-2). I went on to the 2008 season with only the Camaro, and got 3rd for the season. I continued to drive that car until I moved in 2009.

The Street Stock class was more competitive and a bit rougher, but very fun, with a great group of drivers.

There's also several Youtube.com videos of various races at this track. However, they're generally shot by someone focusing on a particular car. I happened to be around the same position one of those drivers on my first race with this car on August 4th, 2007. Click here for the video; It's a bit hard to tell, but my car is distinguishable at some angles by a loose bumper that looks to be about to fall off. The dark hood scoop on white hood is also distinctive.
